Reference Map Basics

The Basic Concept of the Reference Map is to create a common generic intersection map suitable for general training use.

The selected map is made up of well chosen generic lane elements that can be combined in various formats to create fully working DSRC MAPS for use with SPaT and other message concepts.

The Reference Map, like all maps, is expressed in terms of XY offsets with respect to an anchor point, so it can be easily relocated to real world locations and serves as a useful starting point for creating actual working maps of physical locations.
